I was expecting to quit OS/2; but, to my surprise the $6,000US W700 works well.
it iscurrently running ecs2.1. it has 256GB solid state hard drives. sound
works fair (no mixer support - only flaky volume). Ethernet and usb ports
are excellent. panorama vesa works with screen running at 1080p!! all four
cores work. machine has so much power that i can play movies without video
acceleration! the tablet might work; but, i've not tried the wacom drivers.
i don't care about the fingerprint reader. i do wish that the
wireless lan, camera, and the pan-tone were supported. virtual
pc for os/2 runs windows XP well. virtual box can run windows 7 okay.
i have even run both windows at the same time using care not to hang
the whole system. overall this machine is a great replacement for my TP770z.
i am critical of mensys for not at least providing complete driver support
for lenovo machines.
